BList. Best Fashion and Style Blogs for Moms.

by Dumb Mom on September 12, 2011

As many of you know, I have recently (shot out to my #WNTW peeps!) turned over a new fashion leaf.

I said adios to my frumpy, dumpy, shapeless fleece wear and hello to clothing that makes me look less like a loser more like a human.

I’m not saying I actually was a loser (I know I was at least a little bit awesome behind all that fleeceyness), I’m just saying I sorta came across as one because I just stopped giving a care.

I went all perpetual yoga-pants-free-t-shirt-knock-off-crocks-with-socks and it was NOT a good look for me.

Yoga pants are fine for um, yoga class, it’s just that when you pair them with an oversized free shirt and wear them to the store and open house at your kid’s school, and to pick up your check from work, and every single other place you go that requires clothing, you may have gone too far.

Entirely.

So a change was needed.

And making the change was really quite easy with the help of an hour long reality show, I just needed a catalyst.  For me it was being ridiculed by a couple of fashion celebrities in a 360 mirror in front of millions of people.  But it really doesn’t have to be so dramatic.

Since the show I’ve fallen in love with pretty things all over again and I love being able to share those with all of you.  Plus, incorporating fashion into pBd makes me stay on top of my personal look, and keeps me from sliding back into the dirty-Uggs-oversized-shirts-and-bleach-stained-sweat-pants life I was living before.

This new life has introduced me into the fashion blogging world and allowed me to discover a whole mess of hot mamas who are down with the pretty.

We all know about the awesomeness of Audrey McClellan of Mom Generations

, Andrea Fellman of Savvy Sassy Moms, A Cup of Jo and the likes.  But tons of mamas are living the stylish life and I’d like to introduce you to a few that I stalk enjoy!

5 Mom Awesome Fashion Blogs You Need to Read Now (I’m an official fashion blogger so you have to listen to me)…

BonBon Rose Girls

1.  BonBon Rose Girls.  A blog coauthored by two sweet ladies (one of which I am happy to know as a fellow leader of the Ebates Savvy Living Community where we are co-hosting a fashion chat tomorrow that you ARE going to attend!) that covers “favorite topics from fabulous shopping finds, to food, travel and beyond”.  There’s something about the BonBon Rose Girls that makes them seem so much more mature (not to be confused with old) and classy than many of the fashion bloggers in the game.  Like only early-20 new-moms like being hip?  We slightly-older-than-that-moms-of-more-than-one-child like being fashionable too, right?!  And, we don’t all look exactly the same, or wear the exact same size, or have the desire to rock feather head dresses to the school drop off line.  So yeah, I feel like I fit in with the BonBon Rose Girls.  And, I really like fitting in.

aint no mom jeans

2.  Ain’t No Mom Jeans.  Another coauthored mom spot that is known for keeping it real with posts about “everyday mom style”.  They are humorous and honest and just freakin’ cool.  And, if I could get a pair of trunk-junk reducing, tummy-slimming yoga pants to wear I might actually be willing to give them another go, ya know (do NOT tell Stacey and Clinton)?!  Oh, and also, I LOVE their Mom Street Style posts that feature what real moms are wearing.  It’s kinda like What’s in YOUR Closet only, um, better.  Perfect fashion blog for functional fashion lovin’ mama’s like myself!

3.  The Daybook Blog.  Okay, so Sidney (who I have been stalking since well before the pregnancy she’s currently sporting even started) may not have proven herself as an official Mom Awesome blogger yet since she’s currently expecting her first (the news of which may have made me tear up a bit and excitedly call BFF with the news despite the fact that she doesn’t even know I exist), but still.  I trust that anyone this stylish before and during pregnancy can only prevail in the face of sleepless nights and spit-up-covered-poopy-scented-shower-free days.  So, what sets her blog apart and makes her BList worthy?  She’s funny!  Just like me!  It’s like we’re long lost sisters or something.  Every post makes me laugh.  I appreciate some writing talent and entertainment in my fashion blogs and this soon-to-be mama is definitely brining the noise in that category!

simplyvonne

4.  Simpleyvonne.  It’s a pretty little blog about all sorts of pretty little things.  For me, it’s all about the photos (nothing turns me off of a fashion/style blog more than icky photos; it’s just too hard to see the pretty through the blurry) at Simplyvonne.  Whether she’s posting about her daughter’s adorableness  or what she wore to buy her last Starbucks her photos are so clear and beautiful and light and fun.  Kinda just like her style!

5.  In Honor of Design.   So what I love about IHOD is pretty much everything that she always looks like she is loving her life.  Something about how she smiles with her eyes I guess (you like that, Tyra?!).  But, not only that, her blog is such a happy place to be.  I almost feel more stylish just for reading it because I am delusional it’s that beautiful of a space.  So, what else does a fashion/style blog require to be BListed?  Good design of course.  I mean, having good blog design is integral for every blog, but something about a poorly designed style blog just screams poser to me, ya know?!

5 More Style/Fashion/Mom Awesome blogs you should check out even though I’m not going to tell you why you have to love them…

6.  Style Your Life Blog

7.  Pink Pistachio.

8.  Good Life.

9.  Tart.

10.  Mommy Chic.

If you made this or a previous edition of the BList feel free to grab the button and share the honor with the world (and I have a surprise coming soon for all of you too!)…

Awesome! I’ve never really been into fashion. Maybe because I’m not good at it, and I don’t like to care about things I’m not good at it. But I do LOVE to look at pretty pictures and watch Project Runway.
