In honor of summer, I thought I’d share a picture from The littlest Dude’s very first lake-beach summer.
The kid was fearless then.
Pretty much just like he is now.
Accept when it comes to actually getting into the water.
At the pool.
It’s funny because in this regard, I am the EXACT opposite.
Won’t step foot in the lake, but am a-ok with the pool.
Grimy-body-of-water floor just geeks me out.
Big time.
And, no type of water shoe (which I think are a serious fashion don’t for anyone over age 12 who is not a dedicated open water swimmer) is gonna change my mind on that one.
But I don’t mind having a sit on the beach.
Under my umbrella.
Where I read and doze off while random strangers other moms I know sorta watch The Dudes and make sure they don’t drown.*
It’s a tough life, but some Dummy’s gotta live it:)

*Don’t worry peeps, it’s too hot to fall asleep so I watch The Dudes myself, although, at times, I think pretty much any other mom would do a more effective job.

Awww I love first beach photos.. We are taking our 2 youngest in the next couple of weeks but they are 14 and 10 lol. Be ther first time for the 10 year old and he is so excited
That picture is awesome. I have one of my Mom and Baby Girl kind of like that with her dipping her toes in at the edge of the lake. I love it.
What a cute photo! Nothing like getting sand between your toes for the frst time.
I love the way babies are nervous to put their feet down in the sand. It doesn’t take them very long to adjust.

Well I hate the beach. Except that time in Costa Rica, the night I turned 21, being serenaded by gorgeous college Costa Rican girls. Now that was an experience. Don’t have any pics of that, though. Bummer.
You’ll have to settle for a baby memory sappy entry. Bummer.

My dad lives on a beautiful lake…but I don’t like tot touch the bottom of the lake either! When I was a kid, that and the lake leeches didnt bother me!
